„petru rareș” national college

Inspired by the historic mosaic adorning the entrance of the college, this newly designed coat of arms embodies the institution’s deep-rooted legacy and values while offering a heraldic expression of its identity for future generations.

The mosaic in question features the chamois, a symbol present in the coat of arms of Neamț County, while the combination of Or and Sable evokes the traditional colours associated with the college, reinforcing its visual identity. Additionally, the Cross of the Royal House of Romania is incorporated, commemorating the honour bestowed upon the college by Her Majesty Queen Margarita in 2019. On the sinister side, an open book bears the inscription TRADITION FONS EXCELLENTIAE, surmounted by a voivodal crown—a dual tribute to the college’s role as a centre of learning and knowledge and to its namesake, Voivode Petru Rareș of Moldavia.

This coat of arms has been specially designed to mark the 155th anniversary of the founding of “Petru Rareș” National College in Piatra-Neamț.
