Count László Károlyi de nagykároly and erzsébet kenyeres de dálnok

This coat of arms was commissioned as a gift for Count László Károlyi de Nagykároly and his wife, Countess Erzsébet, née Kenyéres de Dálnok.

While the countess hails from an ancient Székler family of Transylvania, the count’s ancestor, Sándor Károlyi de Nagykároly, was granted a particularly distinguished coat of arms upon his elevation to the rank of count. Unlike the customary Hungarian comital coronet adorned with nine pearls, his bore eleven—an exceptional honour. This distinction positions the Károlyi family as arguably the foremost comital house of Hungary.

The monogram beneath the heraldic achievement displays their respective initials: L for László and E for Erzsébet.
