Zoba alias Popa de Vinț family
The coat of arms was granted on 20 May 1665 by Michael Apafi I, Prince of Transylvania, to Ioan Zoba alias Popa de Vinț, a distinguished Romanian priest from Transylvania. This noble recognition was a testament to his status and contributions within the Principality.
The blazon of the arms granted then read: A military shield, upright and rectangular, of a celestial colour, with a green turf occupying its base. In the field, an eagle is seen standing on its left foot, holding an open book before it, while its right foot grasps a quill, resembling one in the act of writing, and in its beak, it holds a double cross. Above the shield is set a closed military helmet, which is covered by a royal diadem, suitably adorned with gems and pearls. From this, a human arm emerges, holding a sword. From the helm’s cone, ribbons or fillets of various colours gracefully flow down on either side, beautifully surrounding and embellishing the edges of the shield.
